Press release
The Baldwin Gallery is proud to announce its sixth show with Peter Halley, featuring new paintings by the artist. The shows run from June 20 – July 21, 2024.
Peter Halley’s work is an interplay of linear and nonlinear communication, and social and commercial relationships as they have evolved over the years. Stacked grid motifs demonstrate increasing social enmeshment, and powers that attempt to restrain it.
His work has been exhibited worldwide in museums and institutions including Hirschhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid; and Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, among others. Halley received his BA in art history from Yale University, and his MFA from the University of New Orleans. He lives and works in New York.
