The Baldwin Gallery is proud to announce its fourth show with artist Marc Swanson, Like a Leaf Shadow. The show runs from June 20 – July 21, 2024.
The artworks explore the nature of social spaces, how they are organized and where humanity fits in. Mirrored works invite deeper reflection into brightness and shadow.
Marc Swanson’s diverse multimedia works bring together formal preoccupations and references to personal history and identity conflict. The installations include sculpture, painting, drawing, and video, in a variety of materials including light, wood, glass, fabric, and metal chains.
Swanson received his MFA from the Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts at Bard College, and lives and works in Catskill, NY. He has held solo exhibitions nationally and internationally, and his works are held in the collections of Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, DC; the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; and the National Museum of Australia, Canberra, among others.
