Sebastian Blanck
The Carousel
25 November – 18 December, 2011
The Baldwin Gallery is pleased to announce its third show by New York artist Sebastian Blanck. Blanck takes inspiration from the world around him and combines painting and collage to produce a tableau of intimate settings. His compositions converse with impressionism and pop art, reveal scenes of domestic intimacy and highlight with light, color, and texture, the beauty of everyday interactions and personal relationships.
Born in Connecticut, Blanck earned a BFA in Painting from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1998, and he was a visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome in 2001.
Sebastian Blanck, Isca and the Old Town, 2011. Painted paper collage on stretched paper, 24 x 30 in.
